Dos and Don'ts of Gameday Recycling

by Shaye Weaver

DO

Make a visit to Habitat’s table on Myers Quad before tailgating to make a donation and pick up a recycling bag.

Make an effort to separate your aluminum cans from the rest of your trash. This will make it easier for the volunteers to pick up your contribution.

Empty out half-empty cans, Habitat can’t recycle beer!

Be kind to the volunteers, they’re working hard to dig through your garbage.

DON’T

Ignore the recycling bags Habitat hands out. They are there for a reason!

Put your left over food in the Habitat bags, it can get really gross.

Forget to volunteer for Habitat: cansforhabitat@gmail.com. Twitter: UGACans Facebook group: “I want to touch your cans!”

  1. Good format idea. If you're being specific to Habitat for Humanity's involvement, an introductory graph summarizing what the group does on gameday and invoking its full name is necessary -- even if it goes with the story.
